JUNIOR TENNIS ACADEMY
The Club’s Tennis Academy plays every Wednesday and Friday for 1.5hrs from 430-6pm and are lead by our internationally trained top level coaching staff. The Academy separates players by ability and we have an intro to tennis courts for younger new players and additional courts for older highschool and tournament level players.

Coach Elke Smith

The Southampton Club Tennis Programs are run by Coach Elke Smith. A WTA ranked player with over 30 years coaching experience the highest level of the game. A top junior player in her youth, she reached a high of 27 in the world on the ITF Junior World Tour, competed on German Bundesliga League, then turned pro for several years before focusing on her passion of instilling the love of the game to new players. She has taught tennis in Germany, Peru, California and now North Carolina. Whether you have a child picking up a racquet for the first time, an advanced junior or any adult level of tennis, Coach Elke is your best bet to improving your game of tennis and taking it to the next level.
Coach Thalia Smith
CLUB OWNER
Coach Elke is joined by her daughter Coach Thalia in helping run the Academy, Tennis Camps and lessons. Thalia is a top ranked US junior player, now committed to playing D1 tennis for West Point University. Starting at a very young age Thalia reached the top of the world junior rankings by winning several prestigious singles, doubles and mixed titles at the international Little Mo Tournaments in Palm Beach FL during her younger years. Turning her attention to US nationals, she traveled the country reaching a high of 4 in the nation on the Girls 12s circuit. After the Covid slow town she turned her attention to closer tournaments and dominated the Southern/East coast circuit becoming the 12th ranked High School senior in the Country , a Blue Chip Player by the tennisrecruiting.net and a RPI rating of 3 in the country. If Thalia is not on the court training for her college debut, or teaching tennis to the Clubs youth, you’ll find her occupied by her two other passions, art/drawings and writing books. She recently published her debut novel “Stardust”.
